Easy Faux Mermaid Braid Hair Tutorial, Hairstyle Hacks

This mermaid braid hairstyle is so pretty and surprisingly easy to create using a french braiding hack!

You may recognize the faux braiding technique used in the beginning of this video if you watched our hair tutorial last week (the cross bow hairstyle) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFxFtsSxa0Q These 2 hairstyles start with the exact same steps (even though they turn out completely different.) We have always loved mermaid hairstyles and think this one is so gorgeous with the triple braids and signature mermaid look with the delicate strands laying on top of the hair. P.S. These braids are not just for mermaids! This hairstyle could also be considered in the "warrior braid" category... or medieval, renaissance, or fairy tale princess! Of course, it would also be cute for regular old school, work, a date, church, school dances, etc.

This braided hairstyle will work best with long hair or medium length hair. If you tend to have flyaways, I would suggest adding pomade, gel, or wax before braiding.
