This mermaid roll Roll tutorial is one of my favs ( as you might have realized, I love rolls) and I use it a lot to enter the hoop in a smooth way and as a pathway to mount the hoop from below.
It is one of the easier rolls and a good one to test your skills for rolls and learn to understand momentum and feeling of rolls.
P.S. Don't forget to warm up before and to use crash mats underneath when you're doing exercises on aerial hoop. Please do not practice without the supervision of a trained professional.
