This Abstract Pendant, Polymer Clay Tutorial, takes you step by step through the simple process required to create this piece. The tutorial gives tips and techniques throughout and is based on one of my own designs. Originally based on a technique used to replicate a dress fabric, you can use whichever colours you like to customise your own pendant.
It shows how to create the abstract patterned look, the textured surround, how to fit the metal band to shape to highlight the design, and how to create a bail fitting on the back of the pendant.
This is a simple technique but creates a stylish pendant. I hope you enjoy the video.
The soap stone I refer to is actually called 'stainless steel soap' and can be bought online, and the 1mm wire I use is the equivalent of 18 gauge wire.
