Happy Wednesday, all! I've had a few questions about creating swatch maps for watercolor palettes, so I thought I'd walk you through while I create one for one of my new palettes.

A few months ago, I purchased a larger palette for my Mijello Mission Gold watercolors because I felt like I needed more space for mixing colors and also larger wells of color. But since setting up the new palette, I haven't created a swatch map. Swatch maps help me see the colors I have and where they are located in the palette. I realized that because I hadn't created a swatch map that I wasn't as inclined to use these paints. I couldn't tell what the colors were!

NOTE: I still use my previous palette (which is sold with both the palette and the watercolors as a set), especially if I'm traveling. It's a bit smaller but still has all the colors I need. In fact, that palette has two more colors than my bigger palette.

So in today's video you'll see how I measure for the swatch map, plus how I pulled it all together. I didn't label the colors, but you definitely could do that. I did that on my smaller Mijello palette. :)
